Weekly Photo Challenge: STREET LIFE

April 3, 2014 by Patricia Sands 26 Comments

If it’s Friday, it must be France …

La Vieille Ville-Nice

Yay! It’s another Daily Post weekly photo challenge. This is actually last week’s theme, but I couldn’t resist it for today’s post. Some weeks there just isn’t enough time to dive into my photo albums but, when there is, you know how I love to share my photos of France.  Come on along and check out some typical “Street Life” in a few of my favourite spots on the Côte d’Azur.

Boules anyone?
Le parking
Nice
Hot jazz below our window ~ Nice
Pirates of the Mediterranean ~ Nice
Bon appétit!
Sunday Flea Market ~ Nice
Market musicians ~ Nice
Deux Chevaux lives!

Part of the fun is checking out other photo blogs!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Perspectives

March 13, 2014 by Patricia Sands Leave a Comment

I’m just sliding in under the wire with this challenge from The Daily Post! The new one will be out in a day or two, but this was too much fun to miss! Here is my entry for “Perspectives”:

Sometimes, when you get very, very close to things, your perspective changes. Be sure to click on the photo to see a larger version.

Peeking into the tide pools on a beach at beautiful and wild Tofino, BC, offered hours of fascinating exploration. If you have never been there, add it to your wish list!

Pop on over to the photo challenge page to check out more entries. It’s worth the time!

CBBH PHOTO CHALLENGE:View from an aircraft

February 2, 2013 by Patricia Sands 16 Comments

If it’s Friday, it must be France …

As we approached Nice International Airport in May 2011, we flew directly over the apartment building in Antibes that we were going to call home for five months. I had googled it so often in the preceding months, I knew precisely where it was.

It’s the largest of the white buildings in the lower right corner of the photo, with no structure in front  to block the fabulous view of the harbour.  If I could figure out how to put an arrow on the photo, I would show it to you. Trust me, it’s there!

Don’t forget you can enlarge any photo on my blog by clicking on it. The bigger, the better, applies here.

On the way home in October, I took this shot as we left the coast and flew over the Alpes-Maritimes. The dream-like quality of this image portrays my feelings as our fantasy came to an end … until the next time!

This challenge was issued by Marianne on her East of Malaga blog. Treat yourself and visit some other blogs participating in this challenge. Here are two of my favourites this week:

The Urge To Wander

This next site didn’t post views from an aircraft but has an exquisite gallery of portraits. Love it! Click here and check it out.

CBBH PHOTO CHALLENGE: BLUE

November 16, 2012 by Patricia Sands Leave a Comment

If it’s Friday, it must be France …

I’m combining one of my favourite photo challenges with my Friday France post today because all of the “blue” photos I’m posting here were taken in France.

The CBBH Photo Challenge originates on the East Of Malaga blog. Zip on over and see the fab photos Marianne posts.

One very collegial aspect of this photo challenge is that everyone is encouraged to visit and comment on some other blogs and share two of  those. It’s a fabulous opportunity to discover wonder and creativity you might otherwise miss. Here are two of my favourites this month. Take some time to chill out with Jenn at The Serenity Space  and be awed by Jo Bryant’s brilliant Chronicles of Illusions.

I almost included a photo of someone looking very blue but I am listening to the news as I post this. There is so much happening to make us all feel blue that I decided to let it be and leave you with this photo, not from France I will admit.  You can’t feel blue looking at this. No way!

How do you see “blue” in the world around you? Let’s keep it happy!
