CBBH PHOTO CHALLENGE: BLUE

November 16, 2012 by Patricia Sands Leave a Comment

If it’s Friday, it must be France …

I’m combining one of my favourite photo challenges with my Friday France post today because all of the “blue” photos I’m posting here were taken in France.

The CBBH Photo Challenge originates on the East Of Malaga blog. Zip on over and see the fab photos Marianne posts.

One very collegial aspect of this photo challenge is that everyone is encouraged to visit and comment on some other blogs and share two of  those. It’s a fabulous opportunity to discover wonder and creativity you might otherwise miss. Here are two of my favourites this month. Take some time to chill out with Jenn at The Serenity Space  and be awed by Jo Bryant’s brilliant Chronicles of Illusions.

I almost included a photo of someone looking very blue but I am listening to the news as I post this. There is so much happening to make us all feel blue that I decided to let it be and leave you with this photo, not from France I will admit.  You can’t feel blue looking at this. No way!

How do you see “blue” in the world around you? Let’s keep it happy!

Some see blue, think I’ll select aqua today. The happy baby is a terrific treat. TX for the smile.

We just can’t help smile at a baby! That’s our grandson, The Adorable Jack, who is now almost five and prefers that I don’t call him adorable any more (at least not in public!). I hope your recovery is speeding along!

Great photos for this month´s challenge, Patricia. I especially love the first one of the 2CV – it brings back memories of a former next-door-neighbour of ours in England who had one of these and who spent about 20 minutes each morning trying to start it! The funny thing is that no matter how long he tried – it always got going eventually! 🙂

Thanks for including links to both Jo and Jenn´s blogs – which are each well worth a visit.

Hope you had fun with the BLUE Challenge – I know I did 🙂

Thanks, Marianne! There’s something about a 2CV (thanks for reminding me of that abbreviation). My sister-in-law, living not far from you, had one for a few years and we laughed every time we got in it.

Hi Patricia. I think I’m going to be joining you in this photo challenge. I need to start doing something with my thousands of pictures. And if you don’t mind me horning in on your French theme, there is so much blue over here that this is a good time to join the party. But the best blue is of course your Atlanta picture. Yes, we need something like that this week.

Hi Julie! What fun to see you here and welcome to the photo party. It’s hard not to take photos in France, isn’t it? I’m looking forward to seeing yours! That Atlanta shot is our grandson “The Adorable Jack” who is now almost 5 and doesn’t want me to call him adorable anymore ( … at least not in public).

I’m a big fan of blue too. You would certainly have seen every shade of it in your life on the sea. A close friend of mine (one of the characters in The Bridge Club, actually) sailed the world for seven years and now lives in Florida. I’ve sent her the link to your blog as I know she will love it.

Thanks, Lena. Great to see you here! You would love the Musée Chagall in Nice. The audio guide is one of the best I have experienced and you walk out of there filled with light and inspiration. Magnifique!

The most delightful blue is that gorgeous shawl you are wearing in the photo, highlighting your beautiful smile Patricia!

Thanks, Melanie. I am always amazed at how many of those clunkers we still see in Europe. Each one always makes me think there’s quite the story behind it! The “wee charmer” is our grandson and, even at 5 years old now, his smile lights up the room.

What a fantastic idea. Actually I love the color blue. (Second to yellow) In fact many of my paintings are yellow and blue. Beautiful stain glass windows, and the baby is having just the best time. So glad I’ve found your blog.

I love these pics, Patricia. The Chagall Window must look spectacular when the sun is directly behind it.

Love the last one – it gave me a big smile 😀

Thanks, Dianne. You are right about that window with the sun behind it. Chagall’s ability to capture the depths of the colours always amazes me. I’m glad The Adorable Jack gave you a big smile … these days we need them! Thanks so much for stopping by and taking the time to comment. It’s appreciated!

Thanks, Amy! It’s fun to focus on how we respond to specific colour in our photos. I decided I must be automatically drawn toward the blue around me. How about you?
