KIDS HELP PHONE-how you can help!

April 17, 2012 by Patricia Sands

Today I’m reblogging Patricia Caviglia’s latest post. Patricia is a very talented writer – a WANA112 Alum – and great friend and, YAY, we actually get to see each other in person!!! Whether we are attending our local Writers & Editors Network monthly breakfast meeting together or a 6-hour outdoor rock concert in a park (seriously … and she didn’t care that I was the oldest person there … neither did I!) , we always have a lot of laughs and great conversation. Besides that, I’m here to attest to the fact she makes a mean gnocchi tricolore from scratch! I’m happy to support this latest project of hers and hope you might join in too and pass it on. Thanks!

This fantastic blogging community often talks about ways we can pay it forward. Here’s another opportunity for a very worthy cause. If all you can do at the moment is to spread the word, that in itself is an enormous help. Thanks!

To market, to market …

April 13, 2012 by Patricia Sands

If it’s Friday, it must be France…

Bonjour mes amis! Let’s go to the daily market in Nice. Whatever you want, they have! If you are a photo junkie like me, go crazy!  We can hang out and browse, conduct a little retail therapy, and then chill with a beverage of choice at one of the cool cafés bordering both sides of the market while we watch the action.

Speaking of beverages, you might want to take a minute to have one while you watch this slideshow. I hope you enjoy the trip.

First we’ll take the train into Nice and hop onto a quick and quiet tram down to Place Massena. Then we simply dive into one of the enticing laneways leading to the Cours Saleya in the old town and voila! When we’ re finished there, it’s simply a walk across the Boulevard Des Anglais to the Promenade so we can park ourselves beachside. You’ll be glad you came with me!

Did you notice the action at the mushroom stall? The customer chooses a mushroom and the vendor slices it open to show the quality. Those were some serious champignons!

Are your speakers on?

Do you like to spend time at the fresh markets where you live? Have you taken way too many photos of vegetables like I have? Where was the best market you visited?

Guest blogging? Gotta love it!

April 11, 2012 by Patricia Sands

Who has more fun than bloggers? Okay … um, you can probably give me a list … but never mind.  I can tell you one of the many ways we enjoy life here in the blogosphere and that’s by visiting back and forth – oceans and borders don’t deter us in any way – and hanging out on each other’s blog.

Today I’m particularly lucky to be in two places at once … just another talent we share!

I was thrilled to help out the awesome Myndi Shafer who is taking a little time to enjoy the newest member of her family. #4 ! I’m exhausted just thinking about it but our Myndi is the best at taking it all in stride!

All of her blogging buddies and readers have been celebrating the blessed event and loving the sweet family photos Myndi has since posted.  Take a minute to hop on over and pay a visit. Don’t forget to  knit her some baby booties leave her your congratulations!

Sailing across the Atlantic to the UK, I’m excited to be Centre Stage on the fabulous blog of Nicky Wells, author of the Rock Star Romance Trilogy. Check out the first release, Sophie’s Turn.Things are always in party mode at Nicky’s and she makes every visiting author feel like a rock star. Come on over and see for yourself ... the bar will be open, munchies passed around and your favorite tunes on full blast! Nicky was just signed by Sapphire Star Publishing so celebrate with her as we’ve been doing since we heard the great news. Nicky is one of my fellow authors involved with the awesome author/reviewer website loveahappyending.com. If you live in the UK or will be visiting near Tetbury, Gloucestershire on June 12th this summer, be sure to check out the impressive literary event planned .

Have you been guest blogging or taking trips recently? Did you stay home for the holiday weekend or travel somewhere? You know I love to hear what you’ve been doing so scroll down and leave a comment if you have the time. Thanks!

What’s your take on this?

WHICH MOVIE WOULD YOU SAY IS MORE IMPORTANT FOR A TEENAGER TO SEE?

THE BULLY PROJECT

THE HUNGER GAMES

Why not make this deal with the moviegoers in your life?  If you go see The Hunger Games you will see The Bully Project too.  If you only choose one movie to see in the near future, make it The Bully Project.

Let’s support this important global message. Every person deserves to feel safe.
