From a heart in France …

January 17, 2015 by Patricia Sands

If it’s Friday, it must be France …

From author/blogger/friend Anne-Marie Simons in Aix-en-Provence, her response to last week’s tragic events in France as reported on her excellent blog Provence Today.  Although the events of the past week have brought an end to this particular crisis, this was her emotional, poignant and informative response.

Her post begins:

If I were more computer-savvy this blog would be bordered in black today. As it is, the black borders remain virtual but the mourning does not as France is reeling from two attacks by Islamic extremists this week, leaving 17 dead and a number of wounded.

And now France …

January 8, 2015 by Patricia Sands

Today the world mourns with France. Speak up and speak out against fanaticism everywhere in the world. Pick up your “pen”. Share your words and images. #jesuischarlie

To be more informed about Charlie Hebdo,  here’s an excellent article from The Guardian. The magazine will publish one million copies next week.

The hashtag #JesuisAhmed refers to Ahmed Merabet, the police officer cold-bloodedly killed as he lay injured on the sidewalk. Click here to read the Mail Online article. Such loss and sadness … for nothing.

Feel free to pass this on …

Warmest wishes to you and yours

December 24, 2014 by Patricia Sands

Sending you the warmest of holiday wishes!

The poinsettia bloom always says “December” to me. In our community, December brings celebrations of many shapes and sizes … Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, Solstice, to name just a few. This week I’m happily immersed in Christmas festivities with friends and family. And you?

I hope you find peace and joy in your December celebrations and that those feelings carry through the New Year.

It’s been so meaningful to me to share another great year with you and I thank you for dropping by. I’m looking forward to 2015 and I hope you are too. Let’s make it the best it can be!
