It’s that exciting time again ~ the opening ceremonies of the Olympic Games! Best of luck to all of the athletes who once more remind us that it is possible for the world to be united in good will. For the most part politics are set aside for two weeks and the commitment and dedication to sport is celebrated. Win or lose here, each of these competitors is a champion!
If it’s Friday, it must be France …
I’m enjoying a fine time visiting at TheGoodLife France website. There are so many excellent articles about all areas of France and aspects of the culture, you will want to linger too. Come on over and join me so you can bookmark the link and return over and over again, like I do! Click right here … I’m waiting for you ! Allez zou!

Are you a fan of the Olympic Games too? Do you have a favourite event or do you become a fan of all the sports while the games are on, like I do? I’ll be watching every night and enjoying the moments!
Love the figure skating. And I just hopped over to read your post about Antibes. Oh, man, what beauty. And that picture. Gorgeous.
I love the figure skating too! I’ve been a skier all my life so live vicariously watching those events. At my age, is it wrong for me to still dream of busting moguls and catching air like they do? Probably … but I still do love the fantasy! And you are right about Antibes … gorgeous, for sure!
We are watching it right now! The Olympics are so much fun to watch. Just hope all will go well in Russia when it comes to the security and terror threats.
Of course we loved watching the Canadian sisters win gold and silver in mogul skiing! It’s so interesting how we enjoy watching every sport at this level of competition. All the athletes are winners just for being there. One of our sons is there doing television production and it’s fun to get his take on Sochi. It’s not as bad as some are making it out to be … as he says, “It’s Russia! What do people expect?” A sense of humour is an absolute travel necessity there.
Fascinated by curling (and the fancy pants)…have cousins in Fergus, Canada who have curled the world over. That kind of sweeping appeals to me. 🙂
I’ve been delayed by family matters so am playing catch-up now! Curling is one of those sports that people often chuckle over at first and then discover it is challenging and also a great social game. It sounds like your cousins are making the most of the sport!
I am a Francophile through and through, and would love to retire in a Provencal town someday! We visited Antibes on a day-trip fom Cagnes Sur Mer and fell in love with it. How fortunate you are to have gone on an extended stay.
I hope your retirement wish comes true and I can vouch that Antibes is a perfect place in which to settle. I am counting the days until our return!
