If it’s Friday, it must be France …
PLEASE NOTE: This trip has been temporarily postponed as Uniglobe Instant Travel in London, ON, was taken over by another company on February 1st.
The good news is that another fabulous women’s travel group is working with us and we hope to have the trip rescheduled in the near future. Thanks for all the interest and support and as soon as I have the details I will let you know. We ARE going to do this so I am leaving this post up as an invitation to join us soon!
Happy New Year! Meilleurs Voeux Pour L’année 2013!
Is this the year that you and your best girlfriend, your daughter, your sister and/or your mom take a trip to the south of France? Or perhaps your entire book club? Seriously, it just might be!
Spend the first four days in the captivating town of Nice in the beautiful Hotel La Perouse overlooking La Promenade Des Anglais and the magnificent Mediterranean. With plenty of time to shop and explore, we will also visit galleries and bookstores and have a chat with author Ted Jones. I’m already excited!

Is this breathtaking or what? Visit the 11th century hilltop village of Eze.

Tour the Royal Palace in Monaco.

Follow the footsteps of Cezanne in Aix-En-Provence.

Relax for seven nights in the beautiful Domaine de Capelongue, just outside the village of Bonnieux in the peaceful countryside of Provence. A wine-tasting visit to a local vineyard as well as a cooking class are just two of many activities.

Explore ancient villages.

My friend and fellow author, Susan Sommers, and I have been invited to lead this carefully planned women’s tour to the south of France from October 12th to 24th, 2013. Organized by Uniglobe Instant Travel in London, Ontario, all of the details can be found on the day-by-day itinerary attached. You will notice plenty of time allocated for relaxing and reading as well. The memories will be magnifique!
Just click here to contact Jennifer Fassina for more information and to see how very experienced this company is in planning special trips for women. We hope you can join us!
I love this and I need to go! My novel takes place there and I am going on a memory from a trip 11 years ago. Fab photos!
Susie, come! How much fun would that be? Where is your novel set?
I could tell you were wishing you could go back, so that’s good that you have a return trip planned.
LOL – I’m always wishing that. Oddly enough, we had already made plans to spend a month there so we will go a month before the tour. It’s another home exchange in Nice that has worked out perfectly. Love those exchanges! Have you ever considered one?
It only takes one horror story to make a chicken of me, but I know other people who do that regularly with great success.
Beautiful, Patricia – thanks for the memories…. it’s been several years since I was in Nice and Monaco 🙂
My pleasure! At least you don’t have to take a trans-Atlantic flight to get there. Happy New Year to you in your beautiful and historic corner of the world!
I went to France and Italy twice for very extended stays. I loved Monte Carlo and Nice, but give me Sicily and Siracusa! Le sigh. I hope you have a successful tour. It sounds dreamy!
Le sigh, indeed! Va bene! It’s hard to choose between those two countries but I have to admit France owns my heart. I think I was born there a few centuries ago … the connection is spookily strong …
J’adore le français. Et ma nom est Renée.
Mais.
Les fils Italian?
Oooh la la.
Sounds great… I love the kittycat on the last photo!
Me too! Cats know how to relax in the very best way no matter where they live!
Beautiful photos… Magical place!
Thanks! It really is impossible to take a bad photo there! I appreciate you taking the time to comment. Cheers!
So inviting. What a wonderful to holiday, gather intel, make new friends, and write.
It’s going to be great! Are you tempted?
sounds like a wonderful trip! we just planned a weekend trip to Paris that I’m really looking forward to 🙂
Oo-la-la! No question you will have a wonderful time. Lucky you!
Wow! Gorgeous pictures!
This looks amazing! I know, short of something miraculous happening, I won’t be joining you, but I can’t wait to see pictures and hear stories 🙂
There will be lots of pictures, no worries there! And we can always hope for miracles …
Great photos, thanks for sharing them on Susie’s blog!
Beautiful! I had the opportunity to study abroad in college. I went to Rome, Italy. For spring break I headed to Nice. And as soon as my program ended, I headed back. Stopping by from Susie’s party.
Gorgeous! My cousin’s husband is from Marseilles. His parents still live there 6 months out of the year. Her pictures from their time living there are beautiful as well. I really do think I’d love to go there sometime…(best brush up on my French!)
Oh, would that I could join you on this incredible trip, Patricia! Lucky you ~
That would be SO much fun! Thanks for stopping by!
Hi! Just stopping by as Susie sent me over from her blog party. What stunning pictures! France is on my list of places to visit soon.
Following your blog! 🙂

Oh hi there! That Susie is just the best, isn’t she? Thanks for stopping by and Happy New Year to you too! I’ll be popping over to your blog shortly. This is just so much fun!
Yes, it is. I’m a newbie blogger since October and have met some nice people out there!
The blogosphere is a very friendly and welcoming place. Thanks for stopping by!
I’m sure you will love it when you do go … and don’t worry about your French. You will have a wonderful time anyway! Come with us!
That sure is pretty water on the Promenade. I may go put on my bathing suit now and keep looking at it from my laptop.
Totsy, come with us! In the meantime, keep the splashing to a minimum!
That tour sounds absolutely amazing. Wish I could do it…
I may well be tempted, Patricia. I need some ‘me’ time (away from the men, but don’t tell them I said that!) 😉 xx
Sheryl, how much fun would that be? Come! (I won’t breathe a word to “the men”).LOL
Absolutely breathtaking! I visited Monte Carlo a few years ago for a short day trip, but I would love to explore the picturesque Nice. Thanks for sharing for Susie’s party, Patricia!
Susie has the nicest people at her parties! Thanks for stopping by!
i am so jealous. enjoy
Don’t be jealous, Louise. I’ll take you there virtually!
can’t wait to join you virtually, Pat
Antibes is my favourite South-Of-France town. I was lucky enough to stay on a yacht there many years ago and made daily trips to the market where they sold the most fabulous selection of cheeses ever eaten! Wonder if they still do?
They sure do, Niamh! In fact, a fromagier at that very market was the inspiration for one of my characters in my upcoming novel, The Promise Of Provence!
Hi, just these pictures have brought back memories of a fab short break I had with one of my friends in Nice. We were both so burnt out from work at the time that we would get up every day, get some cake for breakfast, slob out on the beach all day reading, occasionally grunting “you ok?” at each other every so often. Then at about 6pm we’d go to a bar with the intention of a quick beer before going back to the hotel to change for a night out but which every night turned into a few beers and some food before collapsing into our hotel for long sleeps before starting the routine all over again. It was what we needed which was a lovely rest! And if anyone ever finds a diamond ring washed up by the sea, it belongs to my friend Michelle!
This break sounds fabulous Patricia but unfortunately my 5 year old shadow would never forgive me! Maybe another time. Thanks for bringing back some lovely memories xxx
What a hilarious picture you painted here! I love it! Those are the great kind of memories that last forever. Tell Michelle I’ll keep my eye out for that ring of hers. I will be in Nice with my husband for a month before the tour so there will definitely be some beach time. It’s so special there, isn’t it?
AHHHHmazing!!!
These photos are gorgeous – came across this post searching for images of the French Riviera these are captivating. I included the Promenade Des Anglais in my top 7 European beaches you can reach by train if you have a moment come and take a peek! http://loco2.com/blog/2013/03/hit-the-beach-by-train/
Anila, thanks for connecting here! I just popped over to your blog and have bookmarked it to follow. Great info and I am a travel fanatic so always happy to find great travel sites. Merci!
