What’s $.99 among friends?

June 9, 2016 by Patricia Sands 2 Comments

It’s time to celebrate friendship! TBC ~ new coverWell, actually, every day is time to celebrate friendship, isn’t it? We’re so fortunate to have it in our life.

With summer finally here and having just spent time with  my ‘real’ Bridge Club, this felt like a good time to do something special with this book that was my debut novel.

If you haven’t read THE BRIDGE CLUB, now’s your chance to pick up the ebook for $.99.  Send some copies to your friends while you’re at it!

The Bridge Club will be the Book Of The Day on Ereader News Today on Friday, June 10th and the sale will continue for several days thereafter. ENT is a fabulous site to discover ebooks that are free or discounted for a limited time. You might want to subscribe and get the news from them!

576517c4b4c01103a04ba04867f005afHere’s what one Amazon reader had to say about The Bridge Club:  “This book was a wonderful surprise. From the cover I thought it was another fluffy little comedy about a group of zany ladies. Let me assure you it is not – rather it is a guide book for every woman who faces the problems of womanhood as these characters. Yes they are a bit zany, but they define what friendship is all about. They meet each hardship together ,United in their efforts to always be there for one another. While the ending is sad and thought provoking you come away with a sense of joy and peace. Every woman should read this book !!”

Hop on over here to read 100 more reviews on Amazon.

As well as Amazon, The Bridge Club633c6b2eb2442522e39fbe6b6271262d is also available on iTunes , Nook, and Kobo. It was only recently uploaded on the latter three sites, so has no reviews there. If you have time to leave one, I hope you know that’s always appreciated.

If it hadn’t been for the lifetime of friendship I’ve shared with this special group, I might never have begun a career as an author. And they’ve been my biggest cheerleaders from day one … just another reason to add to the many of why I love this collection of smart, sensitive, fun, strong women, who all have their own special stories to tell. But then don’t we all?

Find a few moments in your day to tell the special people in your life how much they mean to you. Celebrate those friendships!

Are you a Suddenly Single Woman?

March 31, 2014 by Patricia Sands Leave a Comment

Helen Wilkie is the vibrant and energizing founder of the new communityHelen red glasses Suddenly Single Woman.

After 41 years as part of a happily married couple, she is learning to live as a happily single woman after being widowed a few years ago. Helen is quick to express, in her delightful Scottish accent:  “It hasn’t been easy. In fact sometimes it was so hard I just wanted to stay home and see nobody ever again.”

Well, she didn’t just stay home and she is encouraging other women who are suddenly on their own to follow her lead.

After a long and successful career as a writer, speaker and communication specialist, Helen gradually worked through the unexpected change in her life.  Finding her own footing, she was motivated to help other women find their way out of the dark place of a divorce aftermath or the death of a husband, or even the breakup of a long term relationship.

If you are asking yourself, “What happened to my life?” or “What am I going to do now?”,  you will find plenty of articles and information to help you move forward on the SSW website.

My readers know that embracing change during life’s later years is a theme I like to include in my novels. After being widowed myself many years ago at the age of 43, I’ve experienced the journey. Grief is not linear nor is there a specific timeframe. Everyone is affected differently and yet there are certain aspects shared by all going through the process.

The most important lesson I learned is that it’s never too late to begin something new. As the years roll by , I realize more clearly that getting older offers us more opportunities to do follow dreams. Helen is a woman who has embraced the change in her life and started on an entirely new path.

SSW_Logo2_225I’m excited to be one of the contributing writers for Suddenly Single Woman and have an article on their website today giving a shout out for the great friendships so many women share.

Even if you aren’t single, this website offers all sorts of great information and ideas, pop on over and explore it for yourself. See you there!

Suddenly Single Woman also has a  Facebook page where Helen is looking forward to welcoming you and anyone you can think of who might be looking for this kind of support and incentive to move forward with their life.

Have you found yourself suddenly in a situation that requires a change in the dynamics of your life? Share your story with us!
