Orion’s Gift by Anneli Purchase

May 30, 2016 by Patricia Sands 6 Comments

New Cover Reveal

Canadian author Anneli Purchase explains her reasons for giving this excellent story a cover facelift.

I had a good photo of a Baja beach for my original cover of Orion’s Gift, but somehow the romance was missing. An enticing beach is all very nice, but if you have no one to share it with, it doesn’t leave room for more than solitude. Orion’s Gift is not about solitude. It’s about old love gone bad and new love too hot to handle.

Designer Anita B. Carroll said the old cover made her think the book was a travel guide. That thought upset me, knowing the novel is full of romance and suspense. I needed to let potential readers know that Orion’s Gift is a love story with twists and turns that would keep them turning pages. Anita assured me she could help.

She suggested several stock photos for me to look at and then took my choice and turned it into something much more in tune with the storyline. She tweaked the photo and played with pleasing fonts. I love the cover she came up with.

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000037_00033]

Sylvia, our California girl, is walking away (from her old life), but she looks enticing enough for Kevin, her new love interest, to follow her. Actually, he did say he’d follow her anywhere—and he does.

But will it be enough? Does our California girl trust him? Can she ever trust anyone again after what she’s been through? Can he convince her that they can make it together?

But neither of them know that characters from their old life are catching up with them, and their pursuers have less than noble intentions.

Orion’s Gift will keep you turning pages. Thanks to Anita B. Carroll’s design skills, you can now judge a book by its cover.

Author Bio: Anneli Purchase has moreAnneli Purchase hobbies and projects than she can pursue in one lifetime, but of them all, writing takes priority. Traveling, camping, fishing, gardening, mushroom picking, and birdwatching are her preferred pastimes when she is not writing. Anneli has lived on Vancouver Island, Canada, for most of her life. The island provides everything she needs for the activities she enjoys.

Cover reveal!

September 12, 2012 by Patricia Sands Leave a Comment

I wish I could say it was the cover for my next novel but I’m not there yet! However Angela Wallace is right on track for her new paranormal release, Earth Tones, and this is the day we all get to see the fabulous cover!

I am always impressed and amazed by authors who write in very specific genres with such talent and imagination. Paranormal romance, mystery, murder, intrigue, fantasy, suspense, creating other worlds … how do they do it? With a great deal of talent, that’s for certain!

To read more about Earth Tones and be captured by the story line, please visit Angela’s blog by clicking right here … after you admire the cover, of course! Here it is … drum roll please … tadaaaaaaa …

Who is Angela Wallace? If you don’t already know, read on.

Angela Wallace has been penning adventures ever since she was sucked through a magical portal as a child. What she saw and whom she met gave birth to exciting and complex fantasy worlds where defying the laws of physics was a bonus. She has since come back down to earth, only to discover this mortal realm has magic of its own. Now she is quite at home in the world of urban fantasy, though believes that love, faith, and hope are of a stronger magic than fire wielding and sorcery. She loves gun-toting good boys, and could have been a cop in another life except real blood makes her queasy. She’ll have to stick to solving supernatural mysteries. Language is her pleasure, whether it’s weaving words on a page or lassoing linguistics into translations as a sign language interpreter. Angela is currently working on her next book.

Take a few minutes to see the book trailer too!

Congratulations, Angela! You’ve done it again!
