I know I keep repeating myself about this and I hope you’ll indulge me as I say it again. One of the best parts of being involved in the writing world is the opportunity to spend time with so many interesting and diverse people: readers, writers, and others involved in the many different aspects of the writing world.
We interact on all platforms of social media, attend conferences and share information and experiences on a daily basis. Wonderful friendships are forged.
Two women who go out of their way to bring readers and writers together, are authors Suzanne Kelman and KJ Waters. Each week they present a new podcast interviewing authors in entertaining and informative chats about writing habits, social media strategies, publishing tips, book marketing advice and more.
To date they have eighty … yes, that’s right 80 … episodes for your listening pleasure. You can search the name of your favourite author on the site.
How they find the time to do this and still write their own novels, amazes me. But, write they do! Suzanne’s new novel, Rejected Writers Take The Stage, will be published on June 6 and is available for pre-order right now. Click right here to check it out.
You can order KJ’s suspense-filled stories, Blow and Stealing Time, right here.
Just over a year ago, I was invited to spend some time with Suzanne and KJ. I thought I would share the link with you again. When you have some time to put your feet up and relax with us, here’s the link to our chat.

It used to be said that a writer’s life was a solitary one, as per quotes like this:
Writing is a solitary occupation. Family, friends, and society are the natural enemies of the writer. He must be alone, uninterrupted, and slightly savage if he is to sustain and complete an undertaking. (Jessamyn West – American author, born 1902)
I BEG TO DIFFER!
THANKS TO EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU WHO HELPS TO BUST THAT MYTH ON A REGULAR BASIS ~ THIS POSTER BELOW IS FOR YOU! IT’S DEFINITELY WHAT YOU DO FOR ME AND I COULDN’T BE MORE GRATEFUL.
You are a natural, too, Patricia, at gathering people around you. I must say, though, that during the writing phase of my book, I did feel like it was a solitary venture. I wish that I had known, or at least had the courage to believe, that it would turn out, as then I would have enjoyed the journey a lot more and possibly not kept it all to myself.
Thanks for your kind words, Catherine. I believe many authors experience a certain sense of being alone when they write their first book because they may not have discovered the amazing support and collegiality that is out there. I can tell that you are finding this out and becoming a part of it. I have no doubt your next venture will be quite a different journey. Write on!
Thank-you Patricia. Thank-you Martha.
Remember that your readers share your books and, above all, your friendship. We are a circle of friends around Patricia Sands!
Martha, it’s people like you making the world a better place and inspiring a multitude of authors through your own vast experience. “Thank you” doesn’t begin to cover it. <3
You are too kind, really! I don’t think of myself the way you do. And I mean it! Your books have helped me dream of better times… Thank YOU!
Thank-you so much Patricia for the quote from: http://www.beingwellthy.com. I am going to keep it by my desk to remind me every day. x
I agree it’s a great quote, Petrina. The name of the website is so cool too!
Love the quote!! I agree, I have met so many amazing folks since I became a writer. It has not been a solitary endeavour for me at all.
