Last week this video was making the rounds on social media and I want to share it with you. Hopefully you’ll share it too.
Congrats to the students and staff of Mount Desert Island High School in Bar Harbor, Maine, who put this together! Very cool!
My next goal is to get my grandchildren singing it!
What do you think? Would you pass this video on? Wouldn’t you rather see this go viral than a video about the Kardashians?
love it! thanks for sharing
I love this!!
So do I! It speaks well for the school, doesn’t it?
It’s very jolly: must have been fun to make.
I’m sure it took a lot of work … but all joyful … and the message is the best!
How creative these students are. They did a great job!
Yes, they are to be commended for sure! I hope every school library is playing this to their students … and public libraries should make use of it too!
That’s a fun little video they did. Yet, I hear more stories about schools banning certain books from their libraries. The classics too. Pure censorship that is ridiculous.
Yup, there are some decisions about books in schools that really make you go …”huh?” But this video is something we can all celebrate. I love seeing students and staff working together! Literacy rocks here!
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and all of your wonderful comments. As writers, we have to stand against censorship. But these fabulous kids remind us why we got into writing in the first place–“all about those books”. So great!
Hi Barb, I’m so glad we connected through Susie’s party. I love your story and the adventure you are on, living in a castle and writing books with your daughter. Very cool!
Hey Pat! Loved the video! It’s a great remake. I hope they do bring reading back!
Thanks for bringing this to the party. I’ve been swamped with birthday week and finishing book 2 in the series for NaNoWriMo. 2,300 words to go!
Hi Susie!
This video is a great example of collaboration between students and staff, isn’t it? Love to see that going on! It’s a cool way to encourage literacy.
Good for you for taking on the NaNo challenge! I’m looking forward to reading the series ~ write on! And belated Happy Birthday!
This is just brilliant – thanks for bringing it to our attention! I’ll share it with my kids as well – although they are already converted…
It’s great fun, isn’t it? From what I’ve heard, lots of kids are latching onto it and make their own videos in their schools. Having fun with literacy is a great way to spread the power of books! No surprise about your kids!
