Thanks to my dear friend and extraordinary book reviewer, Claire McAlpine, for this timely post directing our attention to the urgent issue of human trafficking and the powerful work of PEN author Jennifer Clement.

Thanks for stopping to comment, Niamh. I know how relevant and vital this message is to all of us! I’m looking forward to reading the work of Jennifer Clement.
Thanks for reblogging this review Patricia, an amazing book and an inspiring woman bringing this important message and hidden crime into the open.
My thanks to you, Claire, for bringing this issue to the forefront, as we all must continue to do.
What an enormous tragedy. How can it be stopped?
Thank you for this post. I’m going to buy “Prayers For The Stolen”. When I saw the movies “Taken” and “Taken 2”, I could not believe that this is going on. Appalling. And a subject that needs to be at the forefront.
“Appalling” is the right word, Patricia. It’s just hard to believe that such evil exists, isn’t it?
Thanks for bringing more awareness to this horrendous issue, Pat. Both books look and sound insightful.

Yes, I agree that both books need to be read. It is so sad that this should even be an issue in our world.
Good to be able to help. Let’s do all we can so that things like these – and other similar events – don’t happen again, ever!!!
Keeping the message alive is at least one way we can all try to make a difference. Thanks so much!
It’s so hard to accept that this evil exists. Thanks for posting about it.
Thank you so much for posting this Patricia.
