From Wednesday evening last week and through the weekend, the Canadian Authors Association hosted CanWrite! 2013. It’s the kind of event every writer should have an opportunity to experience from time to time.
Writers attended from across Canada: networking, exchanging ideas, writing together, chatting, debating, empathizing, laughing. All good stuff.
As well as challenging and informative workshops and panel discussions, there were opportunities to meet with stellar representatives from the publishing world, among them, Christie Harkin, Halli Villegas, Sam Hiyate, Anita Chong, and Carly Watters!
Click here to see a complete list of all presenters and panelists. For a more detailed post about some of these workshops and discussions, hop on over to my friend Patricia Caviglia’s blog. I’ve got to get back to my WIP!
Here’s the fabulous poster from this year’s conference. Be sure to watch for CanWrite!2014 which will once again be held in June in Orillia, ON. I’ll let you know as soon as I know the date. Put a reminder in your calendar now!
IF YOU MISSED THE CONFERENCE THIS YEAR, TRY TO BE THERE IN 2014. WATCH FOR IT!
HAVE YOU ATTENDED ANY WRITERS’ CONFERENCES? TELL US ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCES AND DON’T HESITATE TO RECOMMEND OTHERS YOU THOUGHT ROCKED!
Sounds like a fun conference! Glad you got re-energized.

You said it! There is no way a writer can walk away from a good conference without feeling inspired and motivated! I can’t wait for the RWA in Atlanta in July!
Looks wonderful! I’ve yet to get to any myself, but I’m hoping to in 2014.
I hope 2014 works for you too! You will love the experience!
Any of these conferences are very good for authors to attend. They give us the encouragement and motivation to keep writing. I’ve attended the Surrey International Writers Conference af ew times and always came away pumped to write more!
Exactly! Lucky you to be close to the Surrey conference. It has such a fine reputation! Do you know Margaret Hume?
Sounds like a terrific writers event. I have not been to any yet but might try to attend one in the future. I’m still a newbie!
Sounds like great fun. I’ve only attend one writing conference here in the states, and longing to find another one. I can relate to that feeling. Something about other writers energy bouncing off the walls. You can’t help but be affected.
