If it’s Friday, it must be France …
I’m getting close to end of my manuscript. My keyboard is smoking! The light at the end of the tunnel is so bright I’ve got my shades on … gotta get there!
My characters are in Nice today, having delicious moules/frites at the atmospheric old port – le vieux port. So I’m taking you there too!

If you still haven’t had enough of Nice today, here’s a video I found. I would like to take some editing scissors to it but it’s worth watching simply for some of the fabulous panoramas of the city.
Are you having lunch somewhere special today or has this stirred memories of a favourite dining place? Come on … share! I’ve enjoyed this break … and I wish I had lunched at le vieux port of Nice today instead of at my computer. Back to work!
BON WEEKEND, TOUT LE MONDE!
OMG gorgeous Patricia! I wish I was there right now. We went to Costco to pick up some fruits and veggies today and had a hot dog there for lunch – how utterly boring. It’s also gloomy and raining today so?!?!? But I do remember the 14 lunches I had while sitting overlooking the beach and ocean while on vacay – nothing better!!!
Thanks for sharing…I am slowly but surely falling head over heels in love with Nice….MUAH! xoxox
Well those Costco hot dogs can hit the spot at times. I’ve been known to indulge! LOL
I wish I was there to have lunch with you! Fabulous!
Me too! How much fun would that be?
How beautiful! And the menu made me salivate too!
Honestly, those mussels were among THE best I’ve ever had. They were fat and juicy in fresh garlic, crushed tomato and olive oil. C’est tout!
You are making me miss our French adventure very much! xox
We did have a wonderful time and we will do it again some time. I’m counting on it!
Oooh! It makes me want to travel again. Thanks for the virtual tour!
I’m glad you enjoyed the photos! I’m making myself crazy writing about it. Gotta get back there!
awww gorgeous, gorgeous gorgeous. i have to go to france. yikes. i didn’t even take lunch today – i wanted to leave early LOL
Oh no! I hope you have a delicious dinner.
Love the photos, Patricia! What a view of the sea and the mountains! It would be fun to have a sista meeting in Nice! We could write off as a business expense, no?
I had a hurried lunch to day standing in my kitchen before running to the grocery. I have my grandgirls with us this weekend. They’re giggling and chatting in bed as I type. One of the places i love to have lunch is a restaurant in the town of Skaneateles right on the lake. (Skaneateles Lake is one of the Finger Lakes). It’s a historic and charming village with places to sit alongside the lake. I’ll take some pictures this summer and post them.
Oh yes – the sistas in Nice. That’s a lotto win dream for sure! Lucky you having the grandgirls for the weekend. What fun! I’m going swimming with The Adorables tomorrow … can’t wait! So Marcia, do you live in the Finger Lakes region? I’m probably going to be down there for a day or two (Canandaigua) this summer. Maybe we can have lunch at the restaurant you mentioned. I probably never mentioned to you that I lived in Rochester for a year … a long time ago.
My hometown, Syracuse, is closer to the Finger Lakes (35 minutes from Skaneateles.) but now I’m a couple of hours further away. I’m about 3 1/2 – 4 hrs from Canadaigua. 🙁 I didn’t know you had lived in Rochester. My stepdaughter and her family live in Greece, just outside of Roch.So we go there a few times a year for birthdays, etc.
Lovely and timely post! I had lunch with a dear friend I hadn’t seem in some time. We dined at The Gratitude Cafe–a fabulous spot that reminds me of Europe.
What a cool name for a café! Love it!
Gorgeous, and the menu looks scrummy too. It all looks very much nicer than Bordeaux today (dark grey sky, loads of wet stuff…)
The menu was totally scrummy! The moules were fat and juicy and simply cooked with garlic, olive oil and crushed tomatoes. Magnifique!
Even on a grey, wet day I’ll be happy to be in Bordeaux! Lucky you!
How beautiful! Next time we do lunch let’s go to Nice.
Bonne idée!
Oh! What a glorious city. How come every time I see your Friday blog posts I immediately want some brie? Every. Time. I think I’ll call a friend and have lunch at a cute little French place here in town. We’ll toast to you, my friend, for the fabulous idea!
Great job on getting to the end of the MS. When can we read it?!?!
Enjoy lunch with your friend! Re the MS, I am ALMOST finished,,, just when I think I am done Something else happens. Making me crazy!
I love Nice! Thanks for the mini vacation, Patricia.
Thanks for stopping by!
Your photos are gorgeous, Patricia! (I have a weakness for boats/harbors in other countries – go figure… 🙂 But what REALLY caught my eye here is that you’re closing in on the end of your manuscript. Congratulations! I’m awed and inspired by your abilities, friend – a nearly-finished manuscript, consistent blogging, and an expansive network of family and friends… Goodness. Cheering you on from the Gulf of Alaska!
Dear Tele – Thanks so much for your kind words. You would love the old ports of Europe, I know! Yes, the end is in sight but it always seems to be the most difficult part for me. My characters keep taking me in unexpected directions and I have to rein them in or this will turn into War and Peace! It’s a struggle but an exciting one. I so wanted to be finished by today but it’s not going to happen and I just have to relax about it … hopefully another two weeks will get me there. Golf season begins tomorrow and i’m going to be there … gotta get out of this chair! Have you begun fishing?
LOVE IT! Fabulous photos, Patricia! Feel free to share at any time. 🙂 I eat this stuff up. So glad you posted it. Thumbs up to the video as well.
Thanks for stopping by for lunch, Debra!
